Ethiopian Pharmacists Association in North America (EPANA) is a young association established in March 1999 with 25 members at Howard University in Washington, D.C. EPANA is a non-profit professional organization that has created a platform for Ethiopians in the pharmacy profession to network with their colleagues and contribute to their society through a joint venture.

The primary purpose for establishing EPANA is three fold:

  1. to serve Ethiopians who reside in the U.S. and practice in the pharmaceutical field to network with each other to achieve their professional career endeavors;

  2. to join with pharmacy professionals in Ethiopia to contribute to the pharmaceutical needs of Ethiopians; and

  3. to participate in the pharmaceutical education of pharmacy professionals in Ethiopia as well as here in the United States.
