(Preparation for 1st Meeting)

Our first meeting is scheduled for November 25, 2000 in Washington, D.C. (exact time and location is TBD). A meeting agenda will also be published soon. Until then, we would like to continue to discuss several items related to the establishment of the Ethiopian Development Fund. And we would like to do this through our mailing list - etdf@egroups.com. We encourage all who are interested in this endeavor to send us their ideas.

Some of the burning ideas we need to address/discuss are as follows:

1. Where should the fund be headquartered?

2. What kind of legal structure is best suited for such a fund?

3. How do we identify qualified managers and directors?

4.What will be a minimum requirement for investors?

5. What will be our investment criteria? 

6. How will we identify investment opportunities in Ethiopia?

We encourage members to participate and discuss freely any ideas that they might have. This organization thrives on it's members involvement in the process. However, we do not want any political or ethnic slander on this forum.
